1) Introduce yourself!
I'm Foo, creator of IG @kola_and_eagy. As a comic artist, I do both the story n art.
2) Why do you do what you do?
I have an interest in comic drawing ever since i was a teenager. Although I took a fairly long break due to creative block, but during the start of covid, i figured I want to draw something again to cheer people up.
3) Who or what inspires you?
When I was younger, I used to like the works of Satoshi Shiki, Haruhiko Mikimoto, and some others too, but now I just enjoy works of some web comics based on funny n cute characters on IG, e.g. @monstrouslycute, @foobun.art, and @standup.trex
4) How is your experience being a creator in Singapore?
I don't think I'm considered as a creator. Considering my consistency, I'm just happy that there are people who read n enjoy what i have on my IG.
5) What do you wish would happen in Singapore to help creators?
There's actually a lot of creators in SG and some even have a good overseas fanbase. So my advice is talk to these creators, listen to their tips n advice. The majority are more willing to share on how they expanded their fanbase. And don't stop practicing your craft.
6) What are your goals?
Build a good fanbase and get more people to know about my 2 comic characters.
7) Where can people find and support you?
Mainly I get new followers on my IG (@kola_and_eagy) from my booths. Sometimes my IG and TIKTOK get unexpected boost too.
8) Anything else you want to share?
PRACTICE MAKES IMPROVEMENT! Don't feel bad if you think your art is not getting any much attention. Art is subjective, thus if you do your study n research to know where ppl love the type of art you r creating, then you can reach your audience!
